To help offset the environmental impact from our business operations, since 2022 we have partnered with Gold Standard (www.goldstandard.org) to help build and maintain the Betulia hydroelectric project in Honduras (Gold Standard's Betulia Hydroelectric Project). This hydroelectric power plant provides renewable green energy in an area where wood burning had caused major deforestation and pollution. Gold Standard estimates that they have also planted over 11,000 new trees in the area in addition to the natural reforestation that has resulted from the decrease in wood burning. We renewed this partnership once again in 2026.

In addition, since 2024 we have been supporting The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit that is devoted to removing plastic and other waste from our oceans: https://theoceancleanup.com/. Among other things, The Ocean Cleanup has focused their efforts on the relatively small number (less than 1%) of rivers that are responsible for over 80% of the river-sourced pollution of the oceans, including the installation of “interceptors” that seek to capture plastic and other waste before it reaches the ocean.
